A fowl house should provide chickens with a place to roost and a place to lay eggs. Your chickens will think of it as their home. It should offer protection from the elements, predators and vermin. The house should be the right size to accommodate the number of chickens you require. A solid floor to keep litter dry is a big bonus. Remember one nest box for every 5 hens is recommended. Nest boxes should be positioned away from perches. Perches should be removable for cleaning and for easy checking for mites. Easy access is very important so a walk in hen house with a person sized door will make all the difference to those cleaning jobs. A shutable pop-hole for the chooks to come and go is essential. A chook house on skids is a good idea should you require to move it from paddock to paddock.  Avoid chook houses made of tongue and groove timbers as they offer red mites plenty of lovely places to hide. Avoid insulation in hen houses. Poultry runs are important too as having control over your chickens is key to keeping them off the garden and happily contained in their own area. When Looking to Purchase a Chook House there are a Few Important Things you Need to Look For:

Housing that is dry and draught free but still has good ventilation. All our chook houses come with solid plywood walls and a floor which keeps the chooks warm and dry. Netting on one side only ensures good ventilation.
Housing that is predator proof. A solid floor and a pop-hole that shuts will keep out the unwanted visitors.
Housing that is easy to clean. Think about how you are going to clean your chook house. Make sure it is easy-care in the form of a person-sized door and person height inside. Our chook houses come with a flat floor to make cleaning quick and easy. We recommend untreated wood shavings be used on the floor.

Directions are included on the bottle, but here are some simple ways to treat your flock.

Add AHE to your chickens water drinker containers at the following dosage rates & intervals...
Step 1. Add approx 2% to 4% (roughly 30 mls of AHE per 1 litre of drinking water) Continue for @ 3 to 4 days. Clean fresh water afterwards.
Step 2/. In 7 to 10 days time repeat step 1.
Once you have established steps 1 & 2, Repeat step 1 on a monthly basis.

For sick poultry - continue for up to 7 to 10 days. NEVER let your Chickens go without fresh clean drinking water. 

Cannibalism and feather pecking are a complex multifactorial behavioural problem of poultry and game birds worldwide. Predisposing factors include tensoynovitis and other diseases affecting mobility, boredom and strain of bird. Cannibalism and feather pecking may lead to skin wounding leaving it open to bacterial infection. In severe cases this will lead to a loss of blood resulting in generalised anaemia.
